2. Can I designate my giving?
Yes, you can designate where you'd like your funds to go. Please make this clear at the time of your donation to ensure your donation is directed according to your wishes.

3. What kinds of donations does the Foundation accept?
The MIYFS Foundation accepts both cash and in-kind donations, though with the latter there are limits. The Foundation also accept gifts of stock, property, bequests, annuities and other donations associated with estate planning. For more information, call the Development Office at (206) 275-7751.

4. Are donations tax-deductible?
Cash donations are tax-deductible. In-kind (non-cash donations) are tax-deductible for the fair market value of the item or service. You will receive written notification of your donation stating the amount of the donation.

5. In what ways can I get involved with Youth and Family Services?
There are many ways to utilize your talents. You can serve on the YFS Advisory Board, the Foundation Board, or you can volunteer to work on several committees or at the Mercer Island Thrift Shop. 7. What's the difference between YFS and the YFS Foundation?
YFS is a department of the City of Mercer Island that provides programs and services to help improve the health of the community. The Foundation is a separate community nonprofit that exists solely for the purpose of raising funds to support the department.
