Individual & Family Counseling
Professional counseling is available to Islanders of all ages to help resolve problems and deal with life events. Low and moderate income clients are served using a sliding fee scale. For information call 206 275-7744.

Senior Outreach & Advocacy
MIYFS' geriatric specialist assists Island seniors 55 years and older through in-home assessments, counseling, advocacy and information referrals. Consultation services to caretakers and family members are available to help them develop plans of care. For information call 206 275-7752.

Youth Development Program
Volunteer and leadership development opportunities are offered to Island youth year-round. The VOICE and SVP summer programs provide varied and structured group community service experiences. During the school year, volunteer events help students complete community service requirements and pursue volunteer interests. For information call 206 275-7755.

JobLink
Job boards posting full-time, part-time and temporary jobs at local businesses and households are maintained at several island locations and online at joblink.org. Individualized youth employment assistance is available. For information call 206 275-7764.

Family Assistance & Support
Low income Mercer Island families can receive help with basic needs such as food from the MIYFS Food Pantry, seasonal assistance, resource information and referral and limited financial assistance supported by community donations. For information call 206 275-7869.

Arrested Youth Programs
Youth arrested for misdemeanor offenses are contacted as early as possible and may complete court diversion agreements as an alternative to the formal juvenile court system. The diversion program provides positive learning experiences while holding youth accountable for illegal behavior. For information call 425-444-8515.
Contracts for Special Services
MIYFS contracts with other organizations to provide access to specialized human services. Domestic violence victim assistance, adult and child sexual assault victim assistance and legal education services are provided through these contracts. For information call 206 275-7745.
Mercer Island Thrift Shop
The Thrift Shop proceeds help support MIYFS services. Located just south of Mercerdale Park, the Thrift Shop provides volunteer opportunities, a convenient way to recycle usable items and a great shopping experience. Volunteers of all ages are welcome!
